JOHN D. LAMEY III, ESQ.

John D. Lamey III graduated, cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law in 2001. Prior to founding Lamey Law Firm, Mr. Lamey clerked for the Honorable Paulette Kane Flynn in Ramsey County, practiced tax law at Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP, and was in-house counsel for Marquette Financial Companies. Mr. Lamey concentrates his practice on personal and business bankruptcy, secured lending, and general business and corporate law. Mr. Lamey's passion is helping debtors through the complex bankruptcy code to ensure them a fresh start. Mr. Lamey also represents clients in contested bankruptcies and other litigation in bankruptcy court. Mr. Lamey is a member of the American Bar Association, the Minnesota State Bar Association, the MSBA Bankruptcy Section, and is the Editor-in-Chief of the Bankruptcy Section's Case Update Publication. Mr. Lamey also volunteers his time to SMRLS.

ELAINE D. W. WISE, ESQ.

Elaine Wise is the associate attorney with Lamey Law Firm. She grew up in Mankato, Minnesota and attended college at Minnesota State University, Mankato where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in French and a minor in English with a writing emphasis. Elaine attended law school at the University of St. Thomas School of Law. She graduated from St. Thomas in May of 2007 and was admitted to practice law in Minnesota in October of 2007. Elaine’s hobbies include running, gardening, and walking her miniature Dachshund. Elaine is a member of the American Bar Association, the Minnesota State Bar Association, and the MSBA Bankruptcy Section.

SHARI L. NELSON, PARALEGAL

Shari graduated from the Minnesota School of Business in March of 2006 with an Associates Degree for Paralegal. Shari began working for the firm in September of 2006 as John’s paralegal and hasn't looked back since. Before coming to work for Lamey Law Firm, Shari interned at a criminal law firm in downtown Minneapolis, and had no prior experience working with bankruptcy cases, but found it to be very rewarding. Shari really enjoys helping people through this difficult time and to help them see that bankruptcy is not the end of the world but that it will give you a fresh start. When Shari is not at work she enjoys reading a good book, watching a good movie, the outdoors and cooking for friends and family.

MELISSA ROWAN, PARALEGAL

Melissa graduated from Globe University in 2009 where she received her AAS degree for Paralegal Studies. Before coming to work for Lamey Law Firm, she worked in the foreclosure sector of real estate law. She is looking forward to working in the area of bankruptcy law and enjoys working to help people. Bankruptcy is a difficult time however it's not the end; only a new beginning. When Melissa is not at work she enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and volunteering at her church and other organizations.

TERESA P. LAMEY, ESQ.

Teresa P. Lamey is of counsel with Lamey Law Firm. She grew up in Sunfish Lake, Minnesota, and attended Convent of the Visitation School in Mendota Heights. Teresa earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA. She lived in Charlotte, NC, and Palm Beach, FL, working in the luxury hospitality industry before returning to Minnesota in 2000. She graduated from William Mitchell College of Law in June 2003, and was subsequently admitted to the Minnesota State Bar. Teresa has been involved with the law firm since 2004, and concentrating her practice in personal bankruptcy and divorce. She quite enjoys providing a non-judgmental atmosphere in which clients can be comfortable and know that the laws are in place to assist them when necessary. Teresa is passionate about world affairs, languages and travel. She is fluent in French and has studied Arabic and Japanese. She has also obtained an MBA in International Business from the International University of Monaco in 2006.
